Zara – A Special Filly by Zirocco Blue × For Pleasure × Diamant de Semilly × Jus de Pomme
We are delighted to introduce Zara, a young filly by Zirocco Blue out of Jamaika — a horse very close to our hearts.
Her dam, Jamaika, showed exceptional quality and was on par with her sister Illimitee. Her full brother, For Future, was licensed in Germany this year.
After the tragic loss of her mother Eminencia Semilly (sister to eight international 1.60 m sport horses) along with her foal during birth last year, we decided not to pursue a sporting career with Jamaika and had her bred in the same year.
We are incredibly grateful and happy that Jamaika has now given birth to a beautiful, healthy filly.
If Zara lives up to our expectations, she is intended to remain in our breeding program. Together with her sister Rising Sun, her mother Jamaika, and her aunt Illimitee, she will continue this valuable and successful mare line in our stud, securing its quality for future generations.
Sire – Zirocco Blue
Zirocco Blue himself was highly successful on the world’s biggest stages, winning numerous Grand Prix competitions. At the 2015 European Championships in Aachen, he won team gold with the Dutch squad and placed 5th individually. He combines exceptional performance blood: his sire Mr. Blue competed successfully internationally at 1.60 m level and is also the sire of Plot Blue. His dam competed internationally up to 1.50 m.
Dam – Jamaika
Jamaika combines top-level sport genetics with an outstanding mare line. Her sire, For Pleasure, is one of the most influential show jumping sires worldwide, with lifetime earnings exceeding €1.8 million. He is known for willingness, carefulness, rideability, and extraordinary athleticism — traits consistently passed on to his offspring.
Eminencia Semilly (Diamant de Semilly × Jus de Pomme), Zara’s granddam, has produced numerous top sport horses. Her sire, Diamant de Semilly, was a World and French Champion and one of France’s leading breeding stallions for many years.
The second dam, Queen van Berkenbroek, has also produced multiple international show jumpers at the highest level.
